Why service your boiler?

Keeps you safeA boiler that isn’t burning properly can produce carbon monoxide – a gas you can’t see, smell or taste. A service checks it’s burning cleanly and venting safely.

Keeps your warranty in placeMost manufacturers need a yearly service by a Gas Safe registered engineer to honour your warranty. Miss one and you could be paying for repairs that would have been covered.

Catches problems earlyWorn parts are spotted before they fail, so you’re less likely to be left without heating or hot water in the middle of winter.

Saves you moneyA clean, correctly set boiler uses less gas and lasts longer.

Book it at the same time each year. Late summer or early autumn is ideal – before you need your heating most.

WHAT’S INVOLVED

What happens during your service

Visual safety check

We look over the boiler, flue, pipework and controls for signs of damage, leaks or wear.

Flue gas analysis

A calibrated analyser checks the boiler is burning cleanly and safely.

Casing off and cleaning

Burner, heat exchanger, injector and electrodes are inspected and cleaned where needed.

Gas pressure and heat input

Checked and set to the manufacturer’s figures.

Safety devices and seals

Safety devices tested, and the case seals and flue checked so fumes can’t escape.

Inhibitor levels checked

Inhibitor protects your system from corrosion and sludge. If yours is low, we’ll ask your permission to top it up and give you a price there and then.

Anything else we find

If we spot any other issues during the visit, we’ll make you aware, explain them in plain English and talk you through your options.

Paperwork

Your service record is updated so your warranty stays valid.
